My husband and I went to Corkscrew BBQ and it was AMAZING I'm usually not a fan of BBQ but this place is close by and we saw they just got a Michelin Star and we knew we had to try it. It was so good. We ordered the brisket platter for 2. The brisket was so moist and delicious. The coleslaw was a little spicy and delicious. The BBQ sauce and green Chile ranch paired perfectly with the meat. The potato salad was really good. The baked beans were sweet and spicy and very delicious. I liked the pico they gave on the side as well. The sausage was also a favorite. When you swipe through the pictures you will see how long their line was and it's because they are that good. This is definitely the best BBQ food I've EVER had. It's no wonder they were awarded a Michelin Star. This place is worth waiting in line for and literally one of the only places I will wait in line for. It's in Old Town Spring. If you are in the area it's definitely worth trying. Also, the staff was so nice and accommodating. They would ask people in line if they wanted something to drink while you wait and they had big containers of ice water for free to drink which was so refreshing in a hot day while waiting in line to order. So definitely get yourself over to Corkscrew BBQ.
Amazing place! Very good BBQ place! Food is delicious. Staff is very friendly. Good atmosphere! The restaurant has a Michellin Star for the amazing food! Do not confuse with expensive food, tiny portions and blacktie restaurant! The portions are very generous, the price is more than fair! Every penny is worth! As for the food: brisket amazing! Ribs, amazing! Coleslaw amazing!
Well-deserved Michelin 1 Star restaurant . I’ve had bbq from Pit Room, Turth, Goode Company, Brisket & Rice, and papas (so bad). CorkScrew’s bbq is different level. Brisket, Turkey, Sausage, and all the sides are impeccable. Jalapeno sausage is a must-try. I never thought pork could be this flavorful. After tasting their sausage, pork ribs were kinda mediocre but still good.
CorkScrew BBQ is the kind of place that tests your patience and then rewards you with smoked meat so good, you forget you ever had feelings. I waited in line for nearly two hours. Two hours. I had enough time to reconsider all my life choices, start a podcast, and bond with the strangers around me like we were all on some kind of slow-moving barbecue pilgrimage. By the time I got to the front, the menu had been picked clean like a post-apocalyptic grocery store. All that was left was brisket and creamy potato salad. And honestly? That’s all I needed. The brisket was next-level. It was smoky, tender, and had that beautiful bark that makes grown men cry. I didn’t eat it. I communed with it. The potato salad was creamy, tangy, and somehow comforting in a way that felt deeply personal. Like it knew what I’d been through in that line. CorkScrew BBQ earned that Michelin star with smoke, salt, and pure Texas magic. Get there early. Or don’t. Because even the scraps are legendary.
The food was good. The atmosphere was great! The reason for the four stars for service is because as soon as we got in line we asked the line attendee to give us an estimated wait time and he said maybe 1-1.5 hour wait, but we ended up waiting four hours for a barbecue and thank goodness we were the last to get the brisket because that would have been a sad day! We ended up having to order a whole chicken because they were out of everything else. The only side left was potato salad, and it was delicious, but wish I wish I could've tried the mac & cheese and the ribs. Then after the long wait, the food was delicious. I do believe they had recently earned their Michelin star so that may have been the reason for such a long wait but they are the type of barbecue place that serves until they are sold out!
This place is everything you’d expect and more from an EXCELLENT BBQ joint. The brisket is unmatched. The bark was seasoned beautifully, and every bite was moist and flavorful. Didn’t even need the sauce, but speaking of the sauce, it was probably the most well balanced sweet and savory BBQ sauce I’ve had. As someone who has tried hundreds of varieties of red, vinegar, Carolina gold, etc, it might be the best red sauce I’ve ever had. The sides were also great, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. 10/10 experience worth the travel and wait.
Good, old-fashioned BBQ. They received a Michelin star last year and I can see why. The meats were cooked just right and very flavorful. They had a sweet BBQ sauce on the side, but I didn't need it. The potato salad and the apple cobbler also knocked it out of the park! Located in Old Town Spring - the whole area is a vibe. I'd plan to spend some time exploring and making the most of the trip out.
Excellent Q. I had the turkey plate with slaw and my wife had the 1/4 lb brisket plate with potato salad. The turkey was among the best I’ve had. She said the brisket was lean and delicious. Washed it down with a Lawnmower.
